During the holidays I was off from work for a total of two weeks. During this time period, the “normal” work routine was abandoned. I enjoyed staying up late and sleeping in. Cozmo was never left home alone for more than a few hours at a time and was crated inside rather than being kenneled outside.
The normal work routine consists of getting up early to the sound of the alarm buzzer, getting ready, taking Cozmo outside to do business, back inside to prepare Cozmo’s breakfast and my lunch, back outside to place Cozmo in his kennel with his breakfast. I am not a fan of getting up early, therefore, all of the above occurs in thirty minutes or less.
On Sunday I began to whine to Cozmo about returning to reality for the two of us. Back to work for me and back to the kennel for him. Sunday evening I prepared things for the following day and set the alarm for 5:30 a.m. the following morning.
Cozmo and I bedded down for the night. At 4:30 a.m. I sensed Cozmo at the side of my bed. I told him that we had another hour before we had to get up. He seemed to understand this as he allowed me to slip back into slumber. I awoke again to find Cozmo at the side of my bed at 5:25 a.m. His internal clock apparently works better than mine!
No need to worry about sleeping through the alarm with a smart and faithful German shepherd watching over you.
